Human dwellings in natural or manufactured settings can be absurd constructions. As physical and psychological havens, I aim to create a pictorial tension between the organic and geometric, contained versus liberated space, and the orderly allied with the arbitrary. Quiet, unpopulated skies counter a range of busy, tactile surfaces in a surreal mix of fact and fantasy. In mediating order with chaos, I hope to strike a chord with the viewer that our emotional states are in constant flux between the two.
